Found a way to be, Sitting by the rivers, weight on me. Drifting off to sea, Waiting on the shores of Innisfree. Found a way to see, Sitting by the willows, wait for me. Floating down to sea, Waiting for the shores of Innisfree.

Rivers of blood, of lost and loved, all joy and sorrow, on a mote of dust. Rivers of dusk, of autumns fall, the threads of light, in vast time, held in a sunbeam. Rivers of us, on winters cusp, the only home we've ever known, floating. It's lonely here, drifting deep. We'll make a stand, on a pale blue dot.

about

We've spent three years working on 'River Islands', writing music in caves, tree-houses and mountain tops. Having both moved to Tasmania, this album explores our sense of place in our chosen home.

We wanted to write a beautiful acoustic album that reflects our diverse backgrounds from classical, Zen, folk, to contemporary violin and acoustic steel string guitar traditions. The versatility of violin and guitar allows us to incorporate extended techniques such as open tunings, odd timings and unconventional harmonies.

With inspiration from Bartok to Michael Hedges, these compositions are the amalgamation of a lifetime of learning, exploring and experimenting. We've had the pleasure of friendship and support from incredible guest musicians on the album, recorded in a beautiful old church by the Derwent River.
